HOME-START NORTH DORSET CHARITY
TO HOST ‘SECRET POSTCARDS’ EXHIBITION
Guggleton Farm Art Gallery Co-Hosts Reception and
Exhibition – 27th and 28th September
Sturminster Newton, North Dorset – – Home-Start North Dorset (HSND), the local independently-operated arm of nationwide registered charity Home-Start UK, will co-host a ‘Secret Postcards’ Reception and Exhibition over two days on the 27th and 28th September at the Guggleton Farm Arts Gallery in Stalbridge. A preview Reception will be hosted on Friday, 27th September and the exhibition will be staged from 11am – 3pm on Saturday 28th.
Over 80 established professional and amateur artists from Dorset and the rest of England have created one – two postcard-size works of art which are signed on the back. Art lovers are invited to purchase a work of art that appeals (priced at £40 each – cash preferred) and then remove the backing to discover the name of the artist. Celebrities including Dame Judi Dench, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Sir Antony Gormley have contributed items, as well as Sasha Constable, a descendent of famous English landscape painter John Constable and our mystery celebrity postcard to be revealed on the night! The ‘Secret Postcards’ concept was created over 20 years ago by the RCA (Royal College of Art).
All proceeds from the sale of the postcards will go to funding the recruitment, and preparation of parent volunteers who provide expert support and assistance to families with young children in the North Dorset area struggling to cope. The event is co-hosted with the generous input and support of Isabel de Pelet, Deanne Tremlett and the team at the Guggleton Farm Arts Gallery.
